[To the sheriffs] of London. Oontrabreve to go in person to the
Tower with Master John de Glovernia, king's mason, and Master
Alexander, king's carpenter, to view the defects thereof in lead,
gutters, . . . . . . . and amend such defects as are in absolute
need thereof by their counsel, the cost to be credited by view and
testimony of good and lawful men.
To the same. Oontrabreve to let Roger the smith, maker of the
king's quarrels in the Tower, have his wages of 4id. daily from St.
Peter's Chair in this year till Michaelmas following, and iron,
coal, a millstone, and other things needful for making them by view
of the constable. |
