Commission to Walter de Helion and William de Saham to enquire
Westminster,] touching a claim by Master Ralph de Freningham to houses in the parish of St. Christopher, London, late of Peter Aunger, citizen of London, which, the king was informed, were given to him by Henry 111. by reason of trespasses charged against the said Peter at tbe time of the late troubles, and as to which Peter came into court and asserted that lor the whole time of the troubles he adhered to the king and the king's father's side, and in no way transgressed whereby he should suffer disherison or loss of the said houses, and in the late reign frequently offered, it is said, to take his trial for the said trespasses, and JB now ready to do so ; they are to enquire, in the presence of Master Ralph, whether Peter was at that time against the king's father and the king, or hod liny part in the rebellion against the king or not, and whether he was guilty of a trespass of that kind or not. |
