Because the king is informed by inquisition made by Hugh son of Otto, keeper of the c i ty of London, and t h e bailiffs of t h a t city, that Martha Sperling, a fugitive b y reason of a merchant stranger having been killed in her house, has been outlawed according t o t h e custom of the city, and t h a t 2 marks of rent which she h a d in t h e parish of St. Margaret's i n the said city, have been presented as t h e king's escheat before the justices then in eyre at the Tower of London, and that the king can g i v e t h em t o w h om h e will without injury t o a n y one ; grant thereof t o his Serjeant John Wylemin [in the margin Gylemin], king's marshal, t o hold to him and his heirs. |
