Confirmation by Ralph the Second, bishop of Chichester,
of a decree recited at length made by William, the treasurer,
Walter the archdeacon, & master John de Climping, canon
of Chichester, as arbitrators, in e suit between John,
rector of Findone, and Walter the prior & monks of Sale
about tithes of the demesne of the lord de Breuse claimed
by the latter; whereby it is ordered that the latter pay
the rector 2 marks annually, that the rector have all the
small tithes except those of the lord's own sheep & beasts,
& of all the profit accruing to the lord from 4 sheepfolds
("bercariis") viz, two of Munallam, one which iiwitelote held
& one of ffurse; that the rector also have the great tithes
of all lands already cultivated, except of the pasturelnnds
brought into cultivation at !!under and durst of
which the Priory shall have the tithes; that all the particulars
not here mentioned shall continue with the parties
who have hitherto respectively possessed them. Dated in
Lent, 1234.
