Description From: John Wylmyng, the king's marshal ('mariscallus') To: the prior and convent of Canterbury Cathedral Priory For an annual payment of 2s, payable as specified in the priory's houses in Southwark ('suthwerk'') for a piece of land ('pars terre'), lying with the chancel of All Hallows Lombard Street ('Gerscherche') [London] to west and the king's highway [Gracechurch Street?] to east. Right of distraint if payment in arrears. No date. [Date: handwriting. John de Bauqwell was an alderman 1286-1298.] Witnesses: 'Dominus' John de Bauqwell; Bartholomew de Lenn'; Mgr John son of Maurice of 'Northewode'; William de Slade; William le Orfreiser; William le ferur; John the clerk of Sevenoaks Endorsed with description and note of registration in late 13th cent hands. Also endorsed with memorandum that these tenements, consisting of 5 shops, are appropriated to the use of All Hallows Lombard Street ('Gresecherch') and that the rent is to be paid by William Molasch, I, almoner ('Elem''), to John Poley, grocer, and John Exham, cordwainer, churchwardens ('custodes bonarum') for 4HenVI [1426-1427] in 15th cent hand.
