Pardon to the citizens of London and their heirs, for a fine of
pton 20,000 marks, which they have made with the king for their ransom
by occasion of their trespasses against the king, the queen, Richard
king of Almain the king's brother, and Edward the king's first born,
in the disturbance in the realm, of all their trespasses, under this form.
They shall have all the issues of rents arising from houses and
tenements as well in the city aforesaid as in the suburb thereof, of the
term of Christmas last, on condition that afterwards they satisfy
as shall be just all persons touching the said rents.
They shall have the goods of malefactors of the city who were against
the king and Edward his son in the disturbance and are indicted
or to be indicted thereof, except the goods of those whose bodies
have been granted to the said Edward by the king, and except the
houses, lands and rents of those citizens which are or ought to be the
king s escheats by reason of the said trespasses.
They shall have the goods of citizens which have been arrested
in Manders,.except of those persons who by lawful inquisition can
be found to have been or shall be convicted of having been the king's
enemies.
_ All the prisoners of the city, except those whose bodies the king has
given already to Edward his son, and except prisoners indicted and
taken, or to be indicted and taken, by the said citizens, shall be delivered
from prison.

The hostages of the said citizens, given to the king for the security
of the city, shall be delivered, except the hostages of the prisoners of
the king's said son; and likewise except the hostages of fugitives
of the city, if any have been given to the king.
Contribution shall be made to the said ransom for the goods of
citizens deceased since the time when the citizens submitted to the king's
will, in proportion to their wealth, as in the case of the other citizens
who survive; and like contribution shall be made from the goods of
all men of the said town who are of the king's change there.
All the goods of the good men of the said city," by whomsoever
plundered without warrant from the time when the citizens submitted
to the king's will, except the goods of Richard do Walebrok, shall be
wholly restored to them.
The said citizens shall be at liberty to trade with their goods and
merchandise throughout the king's land and power freely and without
impediment of the king or his men, as well by sea as by land, as they
think fit, quit of all custom, toll, and paage, and shall stay wheresoever
they will in the realm for their said business as they used to do in past
* times, until fuller ordinance be made touching the state of the said city
by the king's council.
None of the city, who can be manifestly proved to have been in the .
disturbance the enemy of the king or his son, shall stay henceforward
or be conversant in the said city.
