[f. 45 inset]' [c. 1231-8] Grant by Roger Duke to the prior and canons of Legh of land and a residence (capitale managium) with house and `kays' formerly of Roger de Blakesapelton; abutments, land formerly of Goda the Usurer (fen(er)atricis) on the east and the gate of the Thames at the bridge of Wulsun (ad pontem Wulsuni) on the west; all in length and breadth, in wood and stone etc. conveyed; rent to the grantor and his heirs lb. of cumin or ld. at Michaelmas; excepting the services therefrom to the chief lords of the fee, Holy Trinity, 1 mark of silver; for the grant the prior and canons gave 35 marks; sealed; witness, Richard Reinger.
