GRANT FOR LIFE TO ADAM DE CESTRETON, KING'S CLERK, THAT HE SHALL HAVE HIS HOUSES WITHIN THE CLOSE OF THE SITE OF THE PLACE OF THE CONVERTS, LONDON, QUIT OF LIVERY OF THE KING'S MARSHALS or of THE LIVERYMEN of
THE INNS IN THE KING'S COURT OR WITHOUT, SO THAT NO ONE BY THE KING
OR MS MINISTERS OR ANY OTHERS SHALL ENTER OR BE LODGED THEREIN, OR MS
HORSES, DOGS OR OTHER AMMALS OR GOODS BE PLACED THEREIN, AGAINST
HIS WILL. AND BECAUSE THE KING HAS COMMITTED TO HIM THE SAID PLACE,
HE WISMNG TO PROVIDE FOR THE PROSPERITY AND INDEMNITY OF THE SAID
HOUSE, WMEH HE FOUNDED IN HONOUR OF THE HOLY TRINITY FOR THE
maintenance of poor converts ; prohibits any one of his men or others
from staying in any houses of the said place or from presuming to be
lodged or received therein ; nor shall any of those inhabiting the said
place admit or receive anyone to lodge without the licence of the
said Adam so long as he have the wardenship of the place. |
