Friday after the Feast of St. Scolastica [10 Feb.], 19 Edward
I. [A.D. 1290-1], came William de Bettoyne, executor of
Jordan Godchep, and acknowledged that he had received from
Paul Godchep, mercer (niercenarius), the sum of 10 marks, in
part payment of 80 marks in which the said Paul stood bound
to the said William and his coexecutors by a recognizance
formerly made on paper, viz., on Monday after Ash Wednesday,
