letters of obligatory of james the chaplain warden of london bridge and the brethern therof whereas godard the chaplain derived fro the maintenance of a chantry in the chapel of london bridge 47s 4d annual rent and 180m to be expended by his executros in purchasing lands and rents to the use of the same bridge, and the said executors hae purchased therewith the lands and tenements in leuesham formerly belonging to adam fitz (alexcander) the warden and brethern signalize their acceptance of the same and bind themseles and the bridge house to fulfill the conditions of the bequest; in default, the executors aforesaid o the prior and convent of the new hospital of the blessed mary without bissopesgate (appointed by the testator perpetual conservators of the terms fo he said will in considetaion of the yearly payment to the mof 2s of the 47s 4d rent aforesaid) is have the right to seize or retain all the said lands and tenements in leuesham and all lands rents etc accruing to the bridge under the terms of he bequest, untill satisfaction shall have been made, the bishop of london or his official aiding with spiritual ecwxures{sp} One part of the indenture, sealed wit hte common seal of the ward and with the seal of the official aforesaid brethren to remain in the custody of the prior of the new hospital; the other sealede wit hteh seals of the executors and the same official , to remain with the warden and brethern
