Commission to John de Lovetot and John de Cobham to enquire touch-
ing a complaint by Nicholas Ashewy and Felicia his wife, that whereas
Robert de Gatele (who of the inheritance of the said Felicia and by her
demise possessed certain houses iu the city of London long since for a
term which has passed), by reason of divers trespasses done by him, as is
alleged, both in the said city and elsewhere, on the persons and things of
the adherents to the party of Henry III. and the king during tbe late perturbations, was deprived of bis goods and chattels in the city aforesaid by Henry III. and the commonalty of the said city and ejected altogether therefrom, and Henry III. granted the bouses aforesaid with the term aforesaid to tbe said Felicia, and caused her to be put in full seisin of them by Walter Hervy, then escheator of Henry III. in the city, the said Robert afterwards returned and intruded into the said houses, the said

Felicia then living outside the city, without her licence and that of
Henry HI., and detained them from the said Nicholas and Felicia all his
life i and when, after his death, they had gotten seisin of them, c ejected them therefrom unlawfully and without judgment, and still detain the said houses ; the mayor and sheriffs having been commanded frequently to do full and speedy justice to the said Nicholas and Felicia, and having so fax, as is alleged, done nothing. |
