Liberate to Adam de Basinges, citizen of London, payments for
the following. In the 29th year, 115s. 10d. for broad and narrow
orphreys for chasubles, for linen for an alb and amice, and the
making thereof for the king's chapel ; and 28s. 8d. for broad and
narrow orphreys and the other ornamentation for a chasuble
made for the king of one gold-worked cloth. In the 31st year,
71s. 6d. for broad and narrow orphreys and a silken cloth, with the
making of a cope of gold-worked cloth with the king's arms
placed in his chapel ; 16l. 16d. for half a cloth of white samite
for a chasuble with orphrnys and an altar-cloth, with the making
thereof, sent to St. Edmund's at Pontigny of the king's gift ;

half a cloth of white samite for a chasuble with orphreys and the
making thereof, which was given to the church of Westminster ;
5-i marks for a mitre placed in the wardrobe; 24s. 6d. for an alb
of white silk given to the abbot of Westminster at Whitsuntide ;
IOl. 9s. 4d. for a cloth of red samite to make two chasubles, with
orphreys and the ornamentation and making thereof, one of
which the king gave to t he hospital of the Holy Sepulchre at
London and the remaining one to the church of St. Faith ;
19l. 7s. for 3 gold-worked cloths to make one cloth to hang in
St. Peter 's church at Westminster, and for an alb of white silken
cloth, with orphreys for the cuffs (pugnell') and collar , for the
king; and 3s. ?~d. for 11 ells of canvas and 2 ells of waxed cloth
to make an embroidered chasuble with precious stones for the
