C. 5830. Grant by Benet Wendegos to Gocius son of Roger of
a messuage (managium) adjoining that of the said Gocius and
measuring 6 royal ells in breadth ; rent, one mark for all service ; the
said Gocius not to be dispossessed (dehospitari) for the accommodation
of the said Benet or other persons. For this grant Gocius gave him
the right to build a gable (ponere gablum meum) on Gocius' stone wall
at his cost (cum custu meo) and also gave him one golden bezant.
Witnesses : Nicholas Duket, Matthew the alderman, Robert the
chamberlain, Stephen Blund, Walter Ardur, Robert of Winchester,
Richard the bloodletter (minutore), Esegar de Douegat, and others
(named). Seal, damaged.
