Agreement between Abbot Adam and Robert son o William de London whereby the Abbey granted him the house in St. Mary Woolnoth given them by Richard, Bishop of Winchester and the house bought from the monks of Holywelll by Ralf son of Ivo. Robert to pay an annual rent of 35s. The tenements to return to the Abbey if he dies without lawful issue.If Robert wishes to assume the religious habit, the Abbey will receive him. Quedam conuencio inter abbatem et conuentum de Messend' et Robertum filium Willelmi de Lond'.
Notum sit omnibus tam presentibus quam futuris quod hec conuencio fa,cta est inter A[dam] abbatem de Messend' et conuentlim eiusdem loci et Robertum filium Willelmi de Lond'. Scilicet cruod prefati abbas et canonici concesserunt predicto Roberto domum quam Ricardus Wynton' episcopus eis dedit in London' in parochi,i de Wulnodmariechurch cum pertinenciis suis et domum quarn Radulfus filius Yuonis emit de monialibus de Haliwelle cum pertinenciis suis ad tenend' de eis quamdiu uixerit reddendo inde annuai im xxxvs. scilicet xvijs. et vjd. ad Pascha et xvijs. et vjd. ad festum Sancti Michaelis. Et preterea predictus Robertus acquietabit predicta ten ementa de omnibus rebus que ad ea pertinent. Si vero predictus Robertus habuerit filium vel filiam de legitimo matrimonio ipsi tellebunt predicta tenementa per eadem seruicia in feodo et hereditate. Si autem de legitimo matrimonio filiurn vel filiam non habuerit prcdicta tenementa ad predictos canonicos libera et quieta redibunt de Roberto et de omnibus suis. Et prefati canonici habebunt omnin tenementa in perpetuam elemosinam que prefatus Robertus habcbit anno et die quo obierit. Et prefatus Robertus ita sustentabit predict as domos quod prefati canonici inde dampnum non habebunt nec ens uendet nec inuadiabit nec dabit alicui sine assensu abbatis et conuentus de Messenden'.
