Description From: Cecilia, widow of Wulfwin of London To: Walter de Meri, prior of Canterbury Cathedral Priory; the convent of Canterbury Cathedral Priory The whole land ('terra') of her patrimony, with a stone house and other buildings, near St Mary Bothaw ('Bothage') to north, not far from London Stone ('lapis qui dicitur lundenestane'). The grant is made in the presence and with the consent of her heirs, her son and daughter. The priory has given Cecilia 8 marks for the use of her son and daughter in compensation for this gift. The priory has also given Cecilia a corrody while she lives, consisting of 2 loaves a day, 1 monk's loaf ('monachilis') and the other as the guests ('hospes') have, 2 flagons ('justa') of ale, 1 of monk's ale the other of servants' ale, and 1 whole dish ('ferculum') whether it is Lent or not, with other common and customary dishes, as much as one monk has in the refectory. If anything is wanting for any reason it shall be restored to her on another day. Dated 1152, no month.
