Description From: Baldwin, archbishop of Canterbury General address. At the presentation of the priory, he has given the church of St Mary Bothaw ('de Bothag''), London, to John, the nephew of St Thomas Becket, in perpetual alms. Reserving an annual pension of 5s, payable to the priory as specified. John is to possess the church as peacefully and quietly as his predecessors possessed it. No date. [Date: as in English Episcopal Acta cited below.] Witnesses: William, archdeacon of Gloucester; Mgr Peter of Blois ('Blesn''), archdeacon of Bath; Mgr Henry de Northamton'; Mgr Silvester; John de Exon'; Eustace de Waton'; Geoffrey Forti Endorsed with a list of names, all in abl (possibly other witnesses), in late 12th or early 13th cent hand. The list is damaged and some details have been supplied from the text in English Episcopal Acta. The names are: Mgr Richard, chancellor of Randal ('Ranulphus') treasurer of Salisbury ('Sar''); Mgr G de Bocland'; Mgr S de Siwell'; Mgr G de Insula; Mgr W de ...; Mgr W de Calna; W de Melan; Gervase; I de Sancto Laur'; Simon de Camera; Adam de Wasingeham; John de Brancestr'; Richard Aaron. Also endorsed with description in late 13th cent hands.
