Remission to Simon de Pateshull, bachelor of G. de Clara eari of
St. Pad's, Gloucester and Hertford^ of the king's indignation and rancour of
London, mf,^ towards him by occasion of the tilings done by Mm by occasion
of the dissension long had between the king and the earl after the latter's
retirement from Wales to London, and acquittance to him, with
the assent of the magnates of the realm, of all things done by him
since then; saving to merchants who did not Intermeddle in .the
said war their actions against him if they have any, to recover their
goods, so that on account of this he shall not be amerced or occasioned
by the king or aggrieved; provided that the said Simon was in the
king's peace at the -time of the said retirement.
