these letters, 20l. for an embroidered cope given to the chmch of
St. Wulfstan at Worcester ; lOl. l 7s. Sd. for a red samite to
make a cope and a chasuble for the king's sister, the wife of J'ohn
de Warenna, and for broad and middling orphreys, waxed cloth,
silken cloth, fringes, and other ornaments (apparatu ) for the same ;
52s. Sd . for 16 ells of linen (tele) to make a quilt for the king's
said sister, and for the making t hereof and of four albs, four
surplices, and two rochets, for the ornamentation (apparatii) of
four trimmings and two stoles, for waxed cloth for repairing
the stoles and trimmings, for an embroidered stole, for
t hree ells of linen for a cloth set apart (cleputaturn) for the
service of the altar, and for fringes for a chaimble of t he
king's green cloth, and for a tunic and dalmatic of the king's
cloth of gold, and for making the same, all for the king's said
sister ; ll. Os. 6cl. for one r eel samite whereon are embroidered the
king's arms, for t he embroidery t hereof, for four wide orphreys
for bordering it, for 17 ells of linen for the same cloth, and for
malting it ; 7l. 10s. 4cl. for a tunic and dalmatic made of one red
samite and given to the prior of Neuburg; 46s. 2d. for one broad
and one middling orphrey, silken and waxed cloth, and fringes,
all for a cope of the king's samite, and for making it; 6l. 6s. 8d.
for 3 orphreys to make a t unic for the king against the feast of
St. Edwar d ; 4l. 9s. 2cl. for a cope of reel samite given to t he prior
of Lisinun ; and 54s. 2cl. for one broad and one narrow orphrey ,
t hree fringes , and silken and waxed cloth for a cope made of a
gold-wrought cloth of the king and given to the church of Merton . |
